The six-week project offered a range of activities including making family meals. The project specifically supported neurodivergent children and those with additional learning needs.

Activities included arts and crafts, board games and group games. The outdoor activities were visits to the local park, the Wetlands center, the beach, paddle boarding sessions and rock climbing.

Children were encouraged to tell us what they wanted for lunch and they helped prepare their food. There were cooking sessions with their family, where they would chop, peel and prepare their evening meal to take home that would feed a family of 6.

  • We had 6 volunteers
  • 193 people reported an increase in skills and knowledge
  • 193 people reported improved physical or mental health
  • 193 people reported having improved access to healthy food
