There are not many organisations who keep their focus completely on the children and young people they serve but CYCA is different in so many ways. Not only do they make sure that every child and young person gets their voice heard, they ensure those voices are heard and positive things happen as a result.
This is evidenced by the brilliant outcomes that children and young people achieve for themselves, for their families and for their communities.
I saw this first hand during my term as the Children's Commissioner for Wales. There is nothing more important in my view than ensuring all children and young people, including those in our care system or those who grow up and live in challenging circumstances, get the opportunity and support they need to be the best they can be. From Tracy's inspirational leadership, through to the dedication of all the staff and volunteers at CYCA, those opportunities are realised. So many of the young people involved told me how much CYCA had saved their lives or turned things around for them by boosting their confidence or self esteem, or by restoring a positive relationship with their family or by giving them a new skill or an opportunity to have some fun.
CYCA is an extraordinary organisation, achieving wonderful results for the children and young people it works with, and I for one wish everyone involved continued success.
