I recently received an MBE for 40 years services to children and their families !
I have been CEO for 21 years and its been an eventful journey I wish I had written my memoirs!
In my previous life I was a secondary school teacher for 12 years, taking a career break to raise my family. I have a son Jamie 30 years old who is a Police officer and a daughter Lowri 25, who is Teacher in Chicago .
My passion is about helping individuals to become more resilient , having trained hundreds of clients over 25 years. More recently I have written the resiliency units for level 1 and level 2 Agored Cymru as well as a new training manual for Mentor Mams, supporting mothers to become volunteer family support mams to others.
My work has been featured on radio and television and I also sit on advisory committees for emotional well being.
I have a fantastic team of highly trained staff working for the Charity who are also my friends. We enjoy socialising together and having fun!
CYCA trustees are also an invaluable source of support, all of whom have the best interests of children in the forefront of their decisions.
When I am not in work I love travelling anywhere and eating anything ! The other love of my life is my Jug dog Frank who I adore.
My motto is ‘ no one can make you feel inferior without your consent ‘
