Garfield Weston provided CYCA with a grant in 2018.

As a consequence of their support, it  enabled the team to work towards securing additional funding to sustain the charity. We have received £7,500 from SKIATHOS, we secured underspends from the County for £10,000 since January 2018 which has enabled us to work in schools. Additionally, we have recently been successful in securing 3-year funding from BIG lottery for £500,000 which enables us to build on the successes of our current work for a further 3 years.  We have also secured £8,000 from Awards for All and £ 8,150 from Post Code Lottery.

We have provided workshops for 16-year olds attending a Pupil Referral unit to help them live independently when they leave the unit/school. CYCA staff have supported the young people with non-accredited learning opportunities. These opportunities have been linked to the young people’s future aspirations. During their time with us the PRU supported the young people in setting up an Enterprise Café and the young people needed to apply for and be interviewed for the role. CYCA staff, ran workshops on the following:

  • Interview Skills
  • Listening Skills
  • Personal presentation Skills
  • Customer Service Skills
