CYCA are delighted to announce that the new Families In Crisis project has began.
The £250k project, named Families In Crisis 2 (FIC 2) is funded by the Big Lottery and follows on from the original Families in Crisis (FIC) project which ran from 2009-12. The extension of the project will now allow us to meet the needs of families who live in Ammanford and Carmarthen town, as well as Llanelli town over the next 3 years.
Managing the project and its team will be Cara Spowart, and she's looking forward to taking up the role, "I am delighted to have been appointed as the Case Manager for the Families in Crisis 2 project. I began my counselling training at CYCA in the as part of the original FIC project over three years ago and it is a project which has stayed close to my heart. I believe FIC provides a holistic range of support for families and its creativity and service user lead ethos makes it unique. The project builds on the strengths of the families and encourages them take an equal part in the support process. We have a great team involved, including a well experienced stress practitioner/therapist and several well informed and experienced mentors. We are all looking forward to the next three years’.
FIC 2 aims to provide a rapid response support service for families in, or escalating towards, crisis in Carmarthenshire. Referrals from both individuals and organisations are welcome. If you would like to refer into the project, please click here for more information, including a referral form.
